Until now I did not consider adding a BTC pool because of the chinese quasi-monopoly over the network hashpower. But if you guys are serious about it we can give it a shot. Just let me know when you are ready. Getting a pool up only requires to add a configuration section to our pool cluster and running the daemons. All in all it would take two days to get it all running (because of the time needed to sync the 150 GB BTC chain).

Our monitoring service went rogue and restarted the pool. Fixed now. Sorry for the incovenience.

Some pools such as ours periodically repeat the current job with the "restart work flag" set to 0 as a keepalive signal to the miners. As for the stratum port it really doesn't matter that much because vardiff is active on all ports and will gradually adjust the difficulty of for your rig until a healthy value is found and maintained.
