@Jeffefe: By the way. You traffic analysis is not correct. The screenshot below shows performance metrics of the pool server responsible for the dash pool and a couple others for the past 7 days. Not even all miners combined push the amount of traffic you've mentioned. Far from it. The stratum protocol is very efficient.

Der pool akzeptiert 3-5 shares Deines Miners pro Minute. Shares sind etwas völlig anderes als Blocks. Wenn wir pro Minute 5 blocks minen würden dann wären wir mit Abstand der grösste Monero Pool den es gibt. Da wir allerdings davon weit entfernt sind, wirst Du wie anderen Miner auf unseren nächsten Block warten müssen bevor bezahlt werden kann.
@iomike: You too have been mining using a payment Id as worker name. Please fix your config. The workername should be appended to your wallet address using a dot character, not using a hash sign (#). I've fixed your balance record but unless you fix your config, this will happen again.

Latency only becomes a problem if it results in lots of stale/rejected shares. You should monitor your rig and only IF that's the case decide if its worth moving to pool geographically located closer to you.
