Boy, that sucks. You have to be so careful with wallets these days.

As as result, I've significantly upped my database-backup Kung-Fu. I've also re-scheduled those maintenance tasks to execute when I'm awake rather than sleeping and unable to react quickly.

The database server performs some routine maintenance tasks every morning at 04:00 GMT which may cause website related queries to timeout. Since the website is totally independent from the pool operation, share processing was never affected by this. Still, this is inconvenient and needs to be improved.

The website frontend is totally independent from the actual pool operation. All shares are accounted for.

That's no problem at all. Once you make the switch drop me a line at contact@coinfoundry.org or open a private ticket here. Include your old wallet address and the new one and I will migrate all of your data including balance, shares and balance history to the new wallet.

This is now implemented but has yet to be deployed as a pool restart will disconnect all miners for a fraction of a second. I'll probably pull the trigger tommorow morning.

The way it works is that miners (ab)use the pool login password to convey their difficulty preference. Example use a static difficulty of 0.05 you would use this as password in your miner configuration: d=0.05

Note: This also works for the Monero based pools (XMR, ETN).

It wasn't that much money but still, it's annoying. See my additional remarks above.

The ETC pool actually went broke because of this. As it was paying out pre-policy change rewards, and was re-funded from my own money. This is one of the issues with the Ethereum Blockchain(s) that annoys me to no end. The miner/pool has to calculate the block/uncle rewards using a formula as the reward is not part of the blocktemplate used for mining. God forbid you miss an announcement like this recent policy change - you'll pay dearly.

0.10185 ETC has been sent. The rest of the uncle reward went into balances below the payout limit.
