No, didn't use ssl/tls, as this never worked for me (any port +100, tls=true). 

Didn't try for the other (non-eu) ip yet.

same here. since yesterday couldn't connect to the xmd.coinfoundry pool, any port. 

manually changing to the 97. ... ip works. 

is there any benefit from using the european ip (when located in europe)?
