BTCP & XMR Pools are inaccessible from Asia. ETH seems OK

heet007 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 6

Hello,

Not really a bug but an incident.

Could you please check the infra?  Cannot connect to BTCP (SSL) & XMR pools from Asia.  ETH seems to be ok.

Thanks in advance.

That's strange because I see shares coming on the Asia server for these pools as we speak. Which IP does xmr.coinfoundry.org resolve for you?

Its not an infra issue, its an SSL issue.  I realized both pools were giving me TLS errors, so removed the SSL connection and then could reestablish connection on both BTCP & XMR pools on all my machines.

Interesting. Do you have any information on the SSL error(s) you got?

Give me an hour or so.  I will pass the logs when i return home.

Apologies but i was accessing my machines remotely when i saw the errors.

Why do you apologize, this is valuable feedback!

Of all my miners, i only have Claymore logging and I am getting confused going through the log as it is switching between different servers as i have backup pools configured.

Here is what i see when it lost the connection:

1572297 21:29:21:842    21a0    ZEC: Stratum - connecting to 'btcp.coinfoundry.org' <172.105.231.61> port 3117 (SSL/TLS)^M
1572298 21:29:21:998    21a0    Cannot establish SSL/TLS connection^M
1572299 21:29:22:029    21a0    ZEC: Stratum - Cannot connect to btcp.coinfoundry.org:3117^M
1572300 21:29:22:045    21a0    ZEC: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...^M

Hope it helps.
