4 miners in the ZEC pool?

deadbeef 6 years ago updated by Fishwell 6 years ago 4

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to the world of cryptocurrencies and mining, and I recently joined this pool since I like it being small and cosy.

I am currently mainly mining ZEC on my not so fast but still useful GPU, and I am now looking at the pool stats for the ZEC pool and to my surprise I see only 4 active miners right now. I'm not sure but when I started I remember there being about 40 miners or so in this pool (or if not that much, still it was a decent number).

Is there anything I'm missing out? Are people moving away from ZEC or it's something else? Or maybe the stats readings are just wrong? I'd love to know more.

Good question. My guess is there is a software failure preventing proper reporting. Because I can't imagine so many miners concurrently quit this pool.

It wasn't a reporting issue. Yesterday roughly 35 miners operating from just two distinct IP addresses stopped mining on the ZEC pool.

We need more ZEC Power !! ;)

We bottomed out at 3 for a while with an average of 4 or 5 over the last few days. Strange as it does seem to be the most profitable equihash algorythm on WTM that you offer. What are the odds of hitting a monero style lucky strike or is there no meaningful way to predict?
