Dear Miners

I'm generally quite happy with the progress the pools have made over the past months and how a tight knit community has emerged around here. I like browsing the forum spotting familiar faces helping out with answering beginner questions. It just feels good and I'm incredibly grateful for that. Yet, I think we can do better. As of now, only the DASH pool keeps the lights on because it's the only one finding blocks at a frequency that does not cause miners setting off for supposedly greener pastures.

In short, the other pools need to perform better which requires more miners. I'm already actively promoting all pools via SEO, Social Media and some forums, but I can only post so much before promotion turns into outright spamming - which is not my thing. Like most people, I despise spammers. This is where you could help us a bit. If you like what we are doing here and you stumble about a relevant question posted somewhere, why not provide a pointer to our forum and/or pools? Stumbling over a pool directory? Let me know or register the pool yourself. Same goes for Social Media Likes/Mentions and Polls. Every bit helps.

Thanks for your time,

Oliver

I have an idea. Many miners also have SM accounts. Maybe you could add an option to auto-post to a user's SM account linked to the auto minimum payout. Since you reduced the payout to .03 from .1, the average 1x D3 miner will trigger a post ~3 days. Not everybody will be open to this, but you won't need everybody. You can offer a pool fee reduction from .15 to .145 or less, or provide a referral link that gives the participant (example) .005/successful referral paid for by charging .155 pool fee to the new miner.

We could certainly do that and see how it works out. One problem with utilizing social media for promoting stuff like this appears to be that many miners like to keep their mining activities under wraps for various reasons like making themselves a target for local tax authorities or to avoid coming off too nerdy inside their friend circle.

Fairly new to these waters, but not to mining in general.  I like what I see here, it's cozy.  Like what reddit used to be like before the hordes came.  I have more mining power available, currently only mining DASH here.  I could throw some more to ya.  I'll add my 500mh of ETH.  If ya'll could add BCH, I'll throw some hash power that way as well.  I know quite a few miners here in the Phoenix area, I'll spread the word.

If you like, I could get you some airtime or maybe some promo mentions with some youtubers and/or LRN.

Edit: Miners pointed.  Let's make some ETH!

That's extremely cool!

Regarding BCH: we used to have a BCH pool but given that both BTC and BCH appears to be firmly in the hands of the chinese monopolies (Antpool and ViaBTC), the pool simply didn't have enough hashpower to hit any blocks. But if you think we could pull it off and give BCH another shot, I could re-introduce the pool.

Let me see if I can round up some miners for BCH.  Currently, looking to buy more in the next batch, I have 2 S9s and 2 S7s.  Probably not enough for solo, but if we get enough peeps.

Here is my email, xander@westsidebitcoins.com shoot me a message and I'll let you know when I get enough miners on board.  How much hash power would you think we will need to make it worth people switcting?

Did a quick analysis of BCH. The top pools Antpool, ViaBTC and Bitcoin.com are pushing approximately 250 PH/s each. I'd say we'd need at least 2 PH/s to get off the ground which would be the equivalent of about 150 Antminer S9/T9s.

BCH Pool now online.

It's not much, but will build a new 6GPU (1070s) rig towards the end of this month that I will point here.

I'm also a month or more away form a 6 to 8 GPU rig!  I've been very please with the last 48 hours of DASH mining!   Thank you!

Just got 5 1060's over the past week that I'll be using somewhere, most likely 3 in one computer, 2 in another. I also have a a single card R9 390 that's been mining Aeon until it stopped working.

Any suggestions on what pool to put them to use on, or tweaks/configuration to optimize them?

2 - ASUS DUAL-GTX1060-O3G

2 - GIGABYTE GV-N1060G1 GAMING-3GD 2.0

1 - ZOTAC ZT-P10610A-10L

Thanks.

I would put them in the more nvidia friendly algos... Lyra2Rev2 pools like MONA or VTC. However, cryptonight algos like XMR or ETN would also be fine. Avoid ETH though, since those cards will end up crippled with the small memory size... The remaining are ASIC pools, so, avoid them...

Thanks, I've been messing around with a couple of them over in the Electroneum pool since I can't quite seem to get more than two to work in a machine at one time. Once I sort that out I'll start the config for one of those. Was also looking at the Zcash, is it worth it to try with that setup, or will I mostly just be background noise?

do you have xmr ssl connection?

i have 3 to 6 D3 units (but with the orphans i had to switch to zpool), 1x s7, 3x vega (ETH) and access to 150 PCs (CPU mining XMR).

Hi, I need a personal consultation regarding my rigs. How can I get it?

+1

How about you ask everyone with a separate post? The pool operator might not be a rig expert, other miners might be.

Unfortunately I can't reach to any pool's operator. The main subject of my inquiry is not rigs only.

I'll be very apreciated to get contacts with pool operator due FAQ is working at this site only.

Send him a direct message on Twitter https://twitter.com/coinfoundryorg and ask for a Slack invite.

Massage and inquiry had been sent! Appreciated for the advice. Thank you.
