Lost connection to xmr.poolmining.com

Robert 7 years ago updated by Jason Hess 7 years ago 5

I have lost connection to the pool. It was connected for about a month.

[2017-12-14 15:15:53] : Connecting to pool xmr.poolmining.org:3032 ...
[2017-12-14 15:15:53] : Connected. Logging in...
[2017-12-14 15:15:54] : SOCKET ERROR - No login/password specified
[2017-12-14 15:15:54] : SOCKET ERROR - RECEIVE error: socket closed
[2017-12-14 15:15:54] : Pool connection lost. Waiting 10 s before retry (attempt 75).

Most likelly problem on your end, mine is still mining :V

I got it to work putting a random password in my configuration file. As soon as I did that it connected right up. Seems very strange to me.

Thanks for the reply.

The main page for the XMR pool has images that say to use "d=8" for the password when using GPU mining and "x" as the password for CPUs. Not sure that it matters much if a random password works, though.

@Jason: Thanks for reporting. In reality the password is currently not used at all. Need to update the page.

I'm currently running XMRig and I (and many others, apparently) get an error that says "No login/password specified code: -1". The program had been running fine (until yesterday) without a password, and it currently runs fine when you do have a password. As of now, you have to have some sort of password in the config file for XMRig to work. Same thing with xmr-stak-cpu.
