VTC Pool Is Legit

Hi, I'm not good at calculating stuff, can you tell based on this that I'm getting right amount.
By the way, I never stopped mining, and after 12 hours, I just got 0.136vtc. Because if this keeps on going, I'm gonna get 0.272 VTC for 24 hours which is way too low for my 1080ti & 1060

You're telling me that with a GTX 950 and a GTX 1060 3GB I've gotten more than you've made in those 12 hours? O.O

Whoa! That's what I'm trying to tell, I'm not sure if it's just me because I don't have anyone to compare to. Maybe I should stop this for now,.

Looking at the time of your post, looks like you posted 5 hours after the last block was found. Meaning, your 12 hours of mining contributed only to a single block, of which you participated timewise for about 7 hours out of 10 hours it took the pool to find the block. You need to take this variance into account, you were not around for approx 3 hours of the incoming shares, plus the fact that this is PPLNS, shares from previous block of other miners that have been around mining actively without interruption longer than you could have very likely been included in the share stack. So to sum things up, you can't just multiply your balance simply by 2x and make a conclusion that this is what would be your 24hr average payout over a long period of time. You're missing the variance and PPLNS factors in your calculations.

And also, what's the hashrate reported on your miner. the network reported hashrate isn't an accurate gauge

I haven't got the number of accepted shares since 12 hours earlier because I started yesterday, but I haven't got rejected.

ok one thing is that for pplns, you need to stay with the pool from the start of the round to get your maximum share of the block, assuming you've got perfect connection and all your shares get accepted and you're there for the entire round, the max you can get with that hashrate per block found by the pool should be somewhere around 0.19 to 0.2 vtc

but one reason you may have only got 0.136vtc, is that you started mining after the round started, so when the block was eventually found, the pool awarded the miners who were here before you more. 0.136/0.2 = about 70%.

so you probably joined and helped mine about 70% of the block to put it in really simplistic terms

Yep, those were my observations. That 70% takes into account only time of course. We are still ignoring vardiff and the last N shares value that could have included shares even from a previous block.

and your share of the pie also depends on the total pool hashrate. I based that 0.19 to 0.2 when the pool's hashrate is about 21ghs. if it rises to like 30ghs, then our probability of finding more blocks increases, but your share of the pie per block also decreases

Just for reference. Below is a link to the code calculating miner balances from shares. All of our pools use the exact same piece of code. 

The outer loop goes over every single share submitted by all miners in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest). The window parameter is currently 1 for all pools. The share.Difficulty is the miner's difficulty setting when the share was submitted. The actual reward of the miner is calculated in Line 166 where blockReward is the exact same amount shown in the "Reward" column of the "Blocks" table on the website.
