Would be possible if it was primarily meant as quicker way to communicate for the miners. I'm already struggling to keep up with this site, let alone be around in a chat channel all the time.
I wouldn't complicate this too much using some inbuilt chat. If you want I can set up slack for this and would be willing to be a mod in my free time as well.
