PayOuts / Coins (Monero)

Hey,

I have just started mining Monero, usually mine ether. This is all different to what I am used to. Usually I can see shares and what ive earned with coins, on this site I can see shares but I still have zero monero. I know I read here somewhere you have to wait for block to be find and matured or something but all estimates I saw said a few hours and its been 4 - 5 days. Is it normal to take this long to see any coin?

+1

The pool hasn't found a block in about 8 days, but theoretically it should find ~1/day at the current hashrate and Monero's current difficulty. It's not a uniform distribution though so you won't always see it in that regularity. If you look at the blocks found page you'll see a history of findings and difficulty associated with it. It looks like the pool may have been unlucky for a little while, but that's not to say it won't find 5 blocks in the next hour. You'll be rewarded as long as you continue to contribute shares to each round. If you stop now you will still be rewarded for shares contributed in the current round. If you're looking for a more consistent payout then you should find a more populated pool, otherwise there is a certain degree of luck associated with smaller pool/solo mining. Personally I stick to smaller pools to help stave off a 51%.

For reference I've been mining CLO on coinfoundry but recently switched back to ETC with the site going down for some pools. CLO was a smaller pool, too. There could be multiple days in a row with no blocks found, or 5 in a day, just like I described above.

thankyou for that information, after your advise I have joined mineXMR instead.. What I have mined in 30 minutes is more shares than what I got after days on coinfoundry. thanks again greatly appreciate it

Shares are relative, they can't be compared bettween pools as they can be based on different difficulty multipliers. As you can see, we found two quick blocs just after you left.
